Diamondcamp Films is Peter Romeo Lambert's film production company, with every movie he has written and directed under it since 1994. The origin of the name came about after finishing a short movie titled, 'The Wishing Tree' Needing a production company name, Lambert began writing down random words on a piece of paper. He then decided to mold two words into one name ("diamond" and "camp"), thus creating the name.
Lambert shot and directed his first movie in 1992. Since then he has made over fifty movies, most of them comprising of shorts that were shot on video. In 1994 he wrote his first screenplay, titled, 'When Roxy Comes to Town'. The video movie marked the early years of Diamondcamp Films, now known as the college movie years. A second written full length film, 'Backwoods Freaks', was shot the following year for a total budget of $50. Following that movie, a final scripted movie, 'January Girl' was finished in 1997, just as Lambert finished college.
In 2004 Lambert collaborated with long time moviemaking pal Jason Byrne and wrote and directed 'Last Exit on Dead End Highway', which was shot after hours in an old movie theater in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2005, Lambert teamed up with writer Joseph Suglia and adapted a chapter from his novel, 'Watch Out'. The finished result was 'Becoming A Man' , a movie which showcased a team of talent with whom he continues to work with. The following year, work began on 'Dead American Woman', a feature length film starring Julie Fabulous. The total budget was $2000. Although shooting wrapped in the summer of '07, post production was stalled for numerous reasons. It was at that time that Lambert scripted and shot 'Green Lust!', which is an unofficial follow up to 'Becoming A Man'. 'Green Lust!' was released in 2008.
'Dead American Woman' finally premiered at the Portage Theater in Chicago on June 20th, 2010.
Immediately following 'Dead American Woman', Lambert and long time friend and collaborator Joe Rubin began work on 'Nurse Jill', a feature length 16mm film written, directed, and edited by Peter Romeo Lambert. Filming wrapped on 'Nurse Jill' in June of 2011. It is currently projected to be released in early 2012.
